St Mark's Mansfield

Lion Cubs

Lion CubsThe Lion Cubs meet in the Community Hall on Sunday mornings during the church service to learn about our faith and have lots of fun. We enjoy singing, gluing and drawing, painting, stories, prayers, silly games and puzzles and much more. We generally plan the session around the bible readings that are used in the main service, and sometimes we show the adults our crafts at the end of the main service to lots of clapping!

We are aged 1-7, and Mums or Dads are welcome to stay with us to keep their little ones happy, they could even join the team to help out, by planning activities or bringing materials. There are always two CRB-checked helpers leading the group, and there is a small team of enthusiastic volunteers who are on the rota, but more are always welcome!

The Lion cubs also enjoy outings about once a month, sometimes in the minibus with the older group (Young Lions) and sometimes a special trip of our own. We have recently enjoyed trips to Willow Tree Farm, a Teddy Bear’s picnic, and a seed-planting day at St Mark’s Community Garden.

Farewell to Leanne, Sophia, Declan and Isabella. Enjoy Australia! July 2015
